Drifting South

Pull up a rocker and have a sit. Fog has burned off the river and hollows and there’s a nice breeze coming down off the mountain.  You’re on Charles Davis time.

Growing up in his Southwest Virginia hometown, stories told on front porches were as commonplace as brown beans and cornbread sitting on a supper table.

Charles Davis has since honored that tradition with his southern literary debut novel, Angel’s Rest, which has won over treasured readers from the Carolinas to California, Australia to Great Britain.

His second southern novel, Drifting South, is out in stores now.

Charles is currently at work on his third long story and many short ones, his desk a mess of words.  Just the way he likes it. You can also find him here, where his pages and blogs will give you a taste of a unique and critically acclaimed southern storyteller.

“. . . a glorious mountain tale of love, hope and redemption. I highly recommend this beautiful story.” — Adriana Trigiani, bestselling author of Big Stone Gap, reviewing Angel’s Rest—the critically acclaimed debut novel by Charles Davis.
